18th Thought: The Phantom of the Opera at Royal Albert Hall

Yet another day of having a change of course for the week! Another Friday of the term, December 4, 2015, arrived. That means another day of Film Showing in our EEP class!I thought we would be watching the second movie of Parasyte Live Action Movie. At the moment we stepped in the room, a vintage ambiance welcomed my senses. As usual, I hurried to get a seat from any of the first two rows and called Hanna over to seat near me. As the first scene unfolded which was an auction in the old times, Hanna became ecstatic exclaiming a set of "Oh my gosh!" for as many as I could remember. After some minutes, the title faded in:
"The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall"

17th Thought: Speak Sense Season 2

The APC Speaks in partnership with the APC Student Services (and the whole APC itself) held its second inter-high school public speaking competition namely Speak Sense Season 2. This competition was a morning event held last November 27, 2015, Friday at the APC Auditorium. From the background itself, Speak Sense Season 2 is a public speaking competition of students from the different high school institutions around Makati.

16th Thought: Seminar on Media Literacy

November 25, 2015, Wednesday, yet another day of classes... I was pretty much drowsy on that day. But who would have thought that all we got to do is attend a seminar and make a reaction paper on it (in GRAMCM) and a blog post about it (in EEP)? Now this is a change of course! (Of course in terms of daily life, not course as in college course lol)
So this seminar we attended is about Media Literacy with the theme "Mobilizing the Millennials as Socially Responsible Prosumers." This seminar is conducted in celebration of the fifth anniversary of The Rampage, the Asia Pacific College's (APC) official news magazine. It aims to develop sense of social responsibility among the attendees, and to create a discourse on media literacy among the APCians.

15th Thought: Plagiarism, an Act of Stealing

Every time our teachers or professors give us assignments, that deal with researching information, or maybe they assigned us to make a thesis, they always remind us to cite the sources where we got the information we used for such schoolwork. They would always say that we will commit plagiarism if we didn't cite them. We all know (or most of us know) that plagiarism is a form of cheating as defined by our school handbooks. But what is considered as plagiarism? How would we know if we committed plagiarism?

14th Thought: Origami, the Japanese Art of Paper Folding

Yes, you read it right! This blog post is about the well-known origami. Origami came from the Japanese words "oru" meaning "to fold" and "kami" meaning "paper;" thus, origami is the art of paper folding (There are some internal changes to create the word. You know language.). Origami is a Japanese term; however, its true origin is still vague until nowadays. Some sources in the internet say that origami didn't come from Japan but from China and Europe. Some say that it really originated in Japan. Some say that origami is a mix origin of both Japan and Western countries. For information's sake, I'll state the usual stories I found.

13th Thought: Carlos P. Romulo, the Philippines' 20th Century Greatest Diplomat

For the term's second half, I will present to you one of my research-based topics in our EEP class. This blog post will talk about Carlos P. Romulo, and inclusive here are a brief background about him and  list of some of his works. I took this topic because I am familiar with his work I am a Filipino which I had with my elementary classmates as a classroom speech choir activity way back in childhood.

12th Thought: Pepero Day at APC

PEPERO!

It's a pretzel stick coated with chocolate and toppings made by Lotte in Seoul, Korea. Last November 11, 2015, Pepero by Lotte celebrated its anniversary with us at Asia Pacific College (APC). November 11 was the Pepero Day at APC brought by Asia Pacific Junior Marketing Association (APJMA).

11th Thought: Filipino Time is Always Late?

Many people say that Filipinos are always late. Even we Filipinos admit that Filipino time is always late until it became a famous line in the Philippines. I also admit it. Filipinos are always late, but not everyone comes late: only most. Why? Because I always come at most an hour early than the scheduled time and I tend to panic whenever I think that I might be late. But why did this concept sprout up in the first place?

10th Thought: Linguistic Truth about Anime and Manga

You, my dear reader! Have you ever heard of anime and manga? How about cartoons and comics? Well I know for sure you do. How about anime? Manga? I know some of you answered a yes and for some, no. How about the popping up discussions and photos about the difference between anime vs. cartoons and manga vs. comics? I know I ask too many questions and maybe you're already curious about it. Don't worry because I will reveal to you the truth.

9th Thought: APC Fights Against Smoking

Dear reader, do you smoke cigarettes? You know what? Cigarette smoking is not cool at all. It has many negative effects on your body and on those people around you. This is why there are laws on cigarette smoking in different countries that should be followed by their citizens.

It has been stated in the law of the Philippines, Republic Act No. 9211 also known as the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003, that smoking is prohibited in any public vehicle school premises, office building, mall interiors and government offices. Moreover, people can only smoke in designated smoking areas. Every said location follows the law; and my school Asia Pacific College has an anti-smoking campaign that is conducted throughout each academic year.

8th Thought: Attending My First College Course Week

On the fourth week of October 2015 with dates from 26 to 30, I experienced my first events week in my college life, specifically the SoM Week. It was a week with (mostly) no classes and a week of enjoyment for the students of Asia Pacific College's School of Management (SoM), formerly known as School of Accountancy and Business or SoAB. I had high hopes that it would be a very enjoyable week not only because of reduced class meetings but also of exciting events.

7th Thought: Anime Fandom Relived! Parasyte Live Action Review

It was yet another normal Friday for me yesterday, October 23, 2015. I went to the English Resource Center at 6:45 AM and waited for the EEP class to start. When the clock's digits struck to 7:30 AM, our professor called us to the Audio-Visual Room to watch another movie. Right after the moment I saw the screen, my day was made. I saw the Menu screen of the legit copy of Parasyte the Maxim Live Action. It made my day bright.

6th Thought: Turn Left Turn Right Movie Review

Have you ever wondered who your true love is? Have you ever wondered where he/she is or when will you meet him/her? What if the man or lady of your dreams is just six feet away from you? Or maybe he/she is that guy/girl that you always pass by along the streets? Maybe it's your childhood friend? How about your childhood crush? We would never know but... What if?
What would you do? Will you be brave enough to face your crush and say, "I like you" and accept whatever response you get? How would you know that he/she is the one?

This movie review won't tell you how you can track your destined one. Neither will it tell you who it is, but I'm trying to get you be interested on the movie itself and make you watch it.

Warning: May contain spoilers.

5th Thought: Nagtataka Ka Na Ba? Ang Tatay Mong Kalbo Review

*Writer's note/s
Title: "Nagtataka ka na ba?" means "Are you wondering?" or "Are you getting curious?"

A E I O U! Tatay mong kalbu!
This is what I remembered when our professor required us to watch the play Ang Tatay Mong Kalbo performed by Teatre Phileo (pronounced as /te-ya-tro fi-le-yo/)
. My silly classmates back in grade school hit this rhyme as a pun whenever we have our Speech subject. Then I suddenly got curious on why does the play have that title and what is it all about. After watching it with my friends last October 10, 2015, 1:00 PM at Multipurpose Hall 1, Asia Pacific College (APC), I had no heartaches on our professor requiring us to watch it.

Warning: May give ideas of what the play is about.

4th Thought: The Perks of a Commuter

Are you a commuter like me? If yes, then you definitely know what I experience. If not, have you ever thought of how it feels to be one? Have you ever imagined how the life of a commuter is? Would you spare a day giving your car a rest and being a commuter for a change? But before you venture as a commuter, I will share to you my experiences as a commuter to give you a gist of what awaits you on the streets.

3rd Thought: Bayan O Sarili? Heneral Luna Review

*Writer's note/s
Edited: October 18, 2015, Original publish date: October 8, 2015
Title: "Bayan O Sarili?" means "The nation or yourself?"

History is never my forte. Since elementary, I get low scores on history because I easily fall asleep when studying history. Memorizing dates and events is also a difficult task for me. Back in high school, I got streaks of line of eight in my Social Studies because I really couldn't understand World History. After discovering this weakness I have, I decided that I'll teach myself history by watching historical films.

Warning: May contain spoilers.

2nd Thought: Prologue to Jeanne D' Saint Rose

(Edited: October 18, 2015; Original publish date: October 7, 2015)

History, history, history! Everything has history. It can be the history of the Philippines, history of math, history of language, browser history, and many more. Even we have history, but I'm not referring to our history as the Lamarck's Theory of Evolution or the story of God creating humans. I'm talking about our past.

1st Thought: Exploring the Nature of Blog Posts

This is my first time to write a post in Blogger. This is a trial post at first but I wanted to help the readers in making a post. It was a relief that my EEP professor allowed me to make this as my first post instead of a self-introduction. The motive of this post at first is for me to explore on how to write posts and how it will appear on screen with the customization I did last September 25, 2015. If you, my reader, are a first timer in blogging, then I encourage you to read this first. This post will help you on how to make your posts.
