1st Thought: Exploring the Nature of Blog Posts

This is my first time to write a post in Blogger. This is a trial post at first but I wanted to help the readers in making a post. It was a relief that my EEP professor allowed me to make this as my first post instead of a self-introduction. The motive of this post at first is for me to explore on how to write posts and how it will appear on screen with the customization I did last September 25, 2015. If you, my reader, are a first timer in blogging, then I encourage you to read this first. This post will help you on how to make your posts.

Blogger allows the user to make posts in two methods: Compose and HTML. In Compose method, the user can compose posts by merely typing the text and insert pictures like how users do in word processing software like Microsoft Word. In HTML method, users who are knowledgeable of HTML or JavaScript making are allowed to compose posts in HTML format. This method allows them to customize their text in detail such as indents, block quotes, headings types and many more. For my first time composing a post which is this one, I used a combination of both.

Uses can also insert photos like how it is in word processing software. It would be difficult to insert a picture in HTML so I suggest this method. Use the Compose method, click the icon beside Link, upload the photos and drag it anywhere you want. It will have a square wrap text format. Once you clicked on the photo while composing, a drop down menu of settings will appear that shows what picture formatting you would want for the photo. You can also put captions like how it is above.

For knowledgeable users, they can input complicated HTML tags to further customize into your liking. At least I have no worries on remembering my HTML lessons and all! But since I remember some tags, might as well use it like the heading tags like these:

Hello!

Hello!

Hello!
As well as the block quote tag like this:
See this text? It's in block quote tag. This tag is used for quoting lines or quotes. It can be a line of a character from a novel, movie or TV series, a famous quote of a someone (maybe Einstein, Vice Ganda, etc.), a lyrics of a song of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Rivermaya or Yeng Constantino, a paragraph you love from a novel book, or a statement from your research articles that you would like to quote to avoid plagiarism.
Blogger will recognize the HTML tags but it will retype it to its local style with no alterations involved. I don't know but the text styles I inputted like the alignment of text didn't apply at all. Maybe I typed it incorrect or maybe it doesn't have that kind of setting.

I forgot how to put indents on paragraphs in HTML format. If you tried to press the Tab button just as how you do it in Word, the paragraph won't be indented at all. This is why my paragraphs look like a block letter. Indention on paragraphs is a must, so I'm totally worked up on finding how to put indents. Block quote looked like indented but block quotes will be written in seemingly center alignment like the one above.

At the end of my exploration, I found out that making blog posts is really easy. Anyone can write a post! As long as you explore it yourself, you'll learn everything. Don't be afraid to try. Even if you did something wrong along the way, at least you learned something.
