For the term's second half, I will present to you one of my research-based topics in our EEP class. This blog post will talk about Carlos P. Romulo, and inclusive here are a brief background about him and list of some of his works. I took this topic because I am familiar with his work
I am a Filipino which I had with my elementary classmates as a classroom speech choir activity way back in childhood.

Carlos P. Romulo was born on January 14, 1898 in Camiling, Tarlac. I thought Carlos P. Romulo was just a writer. However, I discovered that he was a Filipino diplomat, a journalist, a statesman, a soldier, a reporter, a newspaper editor and a publisher in the days he was alive. He was also a co-founder of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, President of UN's 4th General Assembly, a general in the US Army and Philippine Army, and one of the Philippines' National Artists in Literature. He also served eight Philippine presidents from Manuel L.Quezon to Ferdinand Marcos. As a writer, he received a Pulitzer Prize (check this link for more info
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulitzer_Prize) in Correspondence in 1942 and was once nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize back in 1952. He received various awards, and those awards are mostly for his diplomatic service.
As a publisher and author, he wrote many works that targeted the Filipinos and foreigners alike and that were in English. Some of them are:
- I Saw the Fall of the Philippines
- Mother America
- My Brother Americans
- The United
- The Meaning of Bandung
- The Magsaysay Story
- Crusade in Asia
- I See the Philippines Rise
- Last Man Off Bataan
- I Walked with Heroes
- The Filipino Flag Rises... Alone
- I am a Filipino
I didn't know Carlos P. Romulo was such a notable man. I only knew these things while writing this blog post. I only knew that he is the author of
I am a Filipino, but now, I knew him as a Filipino diplomat renowned for his service in diplomacy around the world. Also, he was a diplomat of peace.
"I am a Filipino born of freedom and I shall not rest until freedom shall have been added unto my inheritance - for myself and my children's children - forever."
